Biography

Abbes Boukhobza is a Tunisian artist who promotes a message of peace, tolerance and joy. The best gift Abbes received as a child was a few brushes and coloured paints.
Initially inspired by his father, he is self-taught. His paintings which are characterized by a multitude of details and symbols reflect the Djerbian land where he was born and express the desire to establish a cultural dialogue. In 2008, when he was barely 20 years old, he met the artist Abderrazak Sahli. Inspired, he created and perfected his own style and developed new techniques demonstrated in various exhibitions. In 2009, he was invited to participate in an exhibition in Aubervilliers (France) in homage to Pablo Neruda, then in Strasbourg, Fez and Casablanca. He exhibits at the Mona Lisa Gallery in Paris and worked for the OPEJ Foundation, Baron Edmond de Rothschild from 2015 to 2017. More recently, Abbes has a project of 100 Murals in schools where he brightens the daily lives of children and spreads the message of peace and joy.
