Biography

LaGaylia started playing piano from a very early age. She took up singing as a student at the University of Miami, appearing in several on-campus musical productions, and became a member of a number of jazz bands. In 2004, she participated in the national Swedish selection of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “It’s in the stars.” She performed twice at the official birthday celebration of H.R.H. Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden. In 2007, she released her debut album “LaGaylia Uncovered” on her label TBG (That Black Girl). In 2008 she won the annual Baltic Music Festival with her song “Over and Over Again.” Since 2010 she collaborates with the Swedish jazz pianist Jan Lundgren.
